On 20 June, ICG Gallery Berlin will be hosting “Edible Clouds”: a sensory journey that metaphorically traces the circular “Cloud to Cloud” production process of the H2 Factory, the world’s first ceramics factory powered by green hydrogen. After the great success in London, the “Edible Clouds” format comes to Berlin, and on 20 June will enliven the ICG Gallery with a completely original and exclusive event.
“Cloud to Cloud” is the concept describing the H2 Factory project: the rainwater collected is transformed into hydrogen – through a solar-powered electrolyser – then used in the production process, which then dissolves into steam and returns to the atmosphere, closing the circle. The “Edible Clouds” sensory experience metaphorically traces the “Cloud to Cloud” circular production process: it has four interactive stations and ends with ceramics, which for the workshop take the shape of bread, a staple food for humans.
Visitors are invited to knead a mix of flour and water, a symbol of the “recipe” of ceramics, a natural material made of earth and water. The bread is then steamed, using a form of clean energy, and the steam then returns to the atmosphere, forming another cloud.
This circular, perpetual process conjures up a sense of magic. The metaphor is not only ideal but also real, because at the end of the journey the visitors are invited to taste the product they made with their own hands.
Don’t miss this extraordinary blend of art and innovation.
