Alison Brooks Architects is a leading firm whose projects have made it one of the most influential and acclaimed architecture firms in the UK. Since it was established in 1996 by visionary architect Alison Brooks, the studio has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the project of generous, inclusive city-building supported by a uniquely sculptural design language. Its completed works range from large scale masterplans and mixed-use developments to higher education buildings, public installations, private houses, exhibition designs, and public buildings for the arts.

Alison Brooks Architects’ approach combines cultural research and artistic vision, using these elements as catalysts for community engagement and for new forms of architectural expression.

Principal and Creative Director Alison Brooks is the driving force behind the firm. She sees architecture as an ever-changing social art form and a means to foster ongoing creative-cultural dialogue. Her holistic approach has attracted widespread recognition and earned the firm over seventy awards for excellence in design. Alison is the only British architect to have received the profession’s three most prestigious awards: the RIBA Stirling Prize, the Manser Medal (twice), and the Stephen Lawrence Prize.

Currently the studio is developing in several major urban projects that have attracted a great deal of public attention, including new residential developments in Kings Cross, Tottenham Hale, and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London; a high-density urban neighborhood in the City of Surrey, Canada; and a sustainable tower in Toronto’s Quayside neighborhood. Other critically acclaimed residential projects include Accordia in Cambridge, Newhall Be in Harlow, and three phases of London’s South Kilburn Estate Regeneration.

As well, Alison Brooks Architects has left an indelible mark on the fields of education and the arts. More recent achievements include the Cohen Quad Exeter College in Oxford and, the main entrance building for Homerton College and an art gallery in Cambridge. Private houses are also a focus for the studio, a category to which it brings the same cutting-edge approach to design in intimate, experimental, and innovative dwellings.

Alison Brooks Architects’ visionary style continues to push boundaries and redefine architectural norms, attracting the attention of the public and professionals alike, and leaving a lasting mark on the built environment.
