Zaha Hadid Architects, the prestigious London based practice, have selected the London ICG Gallery for their festive event.
To celebrate the arrival of winter and the approaching festive season, on December 11th the London ICG Gallery hosted a special edition of “Winter in Bloom” for Zaha Hadid Architects, an event where ceramics blended with artisanal creativity and holiday magic.
For this special occasion, the ICG Gallery organised an exclusive workshop with the renowned London-based artist Lola Lely and her Wax Atelier, which came back to the ICG Gallery for this memorable time. At the event, guests explored the enchanting art of beeswax crafting, creating botanical-inspired candles that embody the essence of winter.
The workshop gave the opportunity to craft botanical shapes using beeswax sheets, including leaves, winter berries, and delicate petals, resulting in candles with unique designs and a festive touch. Beyond learning the techniques of wax modelling, this experience invited to a moment of calm reflection, reconnecting with the joy of mindful, artisanal creation while immersing in the enchanting beauty of winter.
At the end of the workshop, each guests placed their flourishing candle in a terracotta vessel from the Bottega d’Arte project by Iris Ceramica, creating a unique and personal centrepiece. A special gift to remember an evening spent together.
