The Architects Series – A documentary on: Peter Pichler Architecture is the 29th instalment of this event organized by THE PLAN magazine for Iris Ceramica Group. The webinar will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, and will include the presentation of a 30-minute video documentary followed by a lecture by Peter Pichler. Participants will need to register for the event on the Iris Ceramica Group website. The webinar will stream live from the Iris Ceramica Group showroom in Milan.
Milan-based architecture studio Peter Pichler Architecture (PPA) has always attracted a lot of interest in the architecture world. Its young, dynamic, and innovative team is internationally recognized, and has received numerous awards and mentions from institutions around the world.
On a Mallorca beach in 2015, Silvana Ordinas and Peter Pichler decided to unite their shared architectural vision by setting up PPA. They chose Milan, a city that’s conducive to innovation and design, as the permanent headquarters for their future projects.
The current headquarters of PPA is a renovated historical warehouse in Milan’s Navigli area. The interior has been redesigned to encourage communication between team members, while retaining its original character.
Peter Pichler Architecture is a successful architecture workshop that stands out for its innovative, contemporary approach. Its avant-garde designs are distinguished by a deep respect for tradition and the natural environment.
Understanding tradition is key to radical evolution, and Peter Pichler Architecture is well aware of the fact. As a result, each project reveals a thorough familiarity with the local culture and respect for the natural environment.
Sustainability is fundamental for the Milanese practice – not simply as an add-on, but as a principle to be followed in every project. Committed to creating sustainable projects from start to finish, PPA always collaborates with engineers to measure the impact of its work. Materials are locally sourced to create projects that respect both the local environment and community.
Research and technological innovation are the driving force behind every idea developed by this team of architects. By creating parametric simulations, PPA is able to test every aspect of its designs, from both the engineering and sustainability perspectives, while maintaining efficiencies in terms of time and costs.
The success of PPA is rooted in a commitment, passion, and desire to build something different. Its projects have received many international awards. Among the most recent are The International Architecture Awards and the Architizer A+Awards for Kastelaz Hof, a project in the Private House category in 2022. In the same year, Oberholz Mountain Hut won the Surface Design Awards in the Commercial Building Interior category.
In 2021, PPA won the AHEAD Awards and Hospitality Design Awards for Hotel Milla Montis in the Hotel Newbuild and Hotel Lifestyle categories, respectively. The practice also participated in the 2021 Venice Biennale, presenting the Italian Best Practice project, curated by Alessandro Melis.

The course has been submitted for approval by AIA CES (USA) and RIBA CPD (UK) for continuing education credits, and by CNACPP for accreditation of two CFPs (Italy only).
